Supporting Pupil Personal Development

Thursday 28 Nov 2019
Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington

Develop pupils' character, values and skills to ensure they become independent, active and responsible young adults.

Why is this conference relevant?

Following the new Ofsted framework, inspectors will be looking for evidence that “the curriculum and the school’s wider work support pupils to develop character” (Schools Week).

Amanda Spielman has announced plans to eliminate judgements on personal development, behaviour and welfare. Schools will instead be examined separately on the behaviour and attitudes of pupils, and secondly their personal development.

Constructive and regular personal development and wellbeing sessions will help improve academic attainment and help your pupils develop into healthy and resilient young adults. Despite the benefits and reinforcements that come from effective personal development, schools are constrained both by a need to prioritise academic learning and the lack of resources and funds to improve personal development provision.

This conference will provide up-to-date and practical strategies that demonstrate the new Ofsted framework, as well as helping you provide sufficient personal development provision for your students without hampering their academic needs.
