This unit covers the strategies schools should use to monitor and evaluate practice. Learners will listen to an interview with a member of staff who recently dealt with a high-level behaviour incident.

Adopting a lessons-learned approach ensures the sustainability of behaviour improvements. The unit also looks at different ways to explore a school’s inclusive culture and attitudes so that it can attend to any threats to its positive behaviour strategy.

By embedding a strong monitoring and evaluation strategy, schools are likely to sustain improvements in the long term, meet pupils’ needs and prevent high-level disruptive behaviours.

Aims and outcomes

  • Enhance behaviour management by monitoring incidents and learning from staff experiences to improve strategies.
  • Promote inclusivity, addressing any barriers to providing a supportive environment for all students.
  • Implement robust evaluation methods to maintain positive outcomes and minimise high-level behaviours.
