Unsurprisingly, our model policies are proving particularly popular! Simply download the templates and customise them to meet the specific needs of your setting.

Each policy is developed by our team of experts and practitioners which then undergo a rigorous quality assurance process, legal review and approval by our legal partners Browne Jacobson

1. Staff discipline, conduct and grievance

Schools must have a policy explaining procedures for staff discipline, conduct and grievance. Our model policy will ensure your school has considered all statutory obligations and is communicating them effectively to all staff and governors.

2. Building maintenance

This model policy will help staff to achieve their school’s vision and ensure that the school provides an environment where every child can feel safe.

3. Health and safety

Schools have a duty to ensure the safety of those who work, attend or visit the premises or take part in an offsite activity. All members of staff should be familiar with their school's health and safety policy, and the statement of intent at the beginning of the policy should be on public display.

4. Data protection

Download our model policy and fill in the details about your school to create this important document explaining your school's data protection responsibility. It must be reviewed every two years, and signed by the headteacher and chair of the governing body.

5. Pay

It's crucial that schools have a clear pay policy for staff at all levels. Create a pay policy for your school from our downloadable template. Add your school's details to our pay model policy template, reviewing the text to ensure that the basic procedures outlined fully explain the way pay decisions are managed in your school. We've included details about how pay is decided upon, and by whom.

6. First aid

Download the template to enter your school's details regarding who is able to administer first aid, where supplies are kept and when information needs to be reported to the Health and Safety Executive.

7. Staff wellbeing

The key element of an effective school is its staff. The ethos of a school is set by the way in which staff work together and with children in a purposeful and caring community.

8. Complaints procedure

This includes information about making different kinds of complaints, what to do in cases involving formal complaints, and how your school's appeals procedure is formatted.
