Anne Khodabandeh, Consultant on Cultic Abuse and Terrorism at Open Minds

With nearly forty years of experience as an activist, campaigner, researcher, writer and practitioner, Anne Khodabandeh is established as a leading authority on the use of cultic abuse in violent extremism and terrorism. From her unique skill-set, Anne has developed a clear and easily understood model to explain the dynamics and methodology behind deceptive recruitment and radicalisation.

This ideologically neutral model enables everyone involved in the HO Prevent Strategy, from senior leaders to frontline staff, to understand and recognise possible radicalisation by looking at the behaviours and reactions at play behind whatever ideology is espoused by individuals. This model is designed to increase staff confidence in identifying risk factors, signs and indicators and developing effective strategies for safeguarding and prevention.
