As with other types of abuse, serious case reviews and other reports show that the identification and management of sexual exploitation are hampered by poor professional awareness, a lack of ‘joined-up’ thinking and confusion about what information can be shared with whom.

This unit will help school managers and key staff to create a whole-school framework to support pupils and staff and ensure that when necessary, you are able to make a robust and well-informed referral to children’s social care.
