Strategic vs operational task

There is often a subtle boundary between ‘strategic’ and ‘operational’. This activity is to test out your perceptions towards your role as a member of the Governing Board.

Activity 1

Look at the associated Word document entitled ‘Operational or Strategic’. Decide if each of the tasks are ‘strategic’ in which case should be undertaken by Governors or they are ‘operational’ and therefore should be performed by staff/SLT. See the crib sheet for answers.

This exercise should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
