This unit explores physical self-care, focusing on three inter-related areas of movement, nourishment and rest.

It will help you start to identify what works and what doesn’t work, and how physical self-care links to other parts of the course. It also offers some suggestions about where you can find more information.

This unit encourages you to examine your own behaviour and find out what works best for you. It is designed to help you figure out your own best ways of changing, rather than by telling you how you should be doing things. This is because what works for one person will be totally unsuitable for someone else.

Nevertheless, some current recommendations and guidance will be provided as a reference point but remember that your self-care is pertinent to you, and what some guidelines say might not be relevant or helpful to you. It’s about finding your own way and doing more of what works well for you.
