This is the second of four units and builds on the foundations of Unit 1.

It focuses on the ideas of Vygotsky, since he made sense of why adaptive teaching (differentiation) is important.

It also includes some basics of brain-based learning and a snapshot of Piaget.

AIMS AND OUTCOMES

Participants will:

  • have a clear understanding of the need to differentiate the learning outcomes as well as the activity
  • be able to understand how to differentiate successfully so that the needs of all pupils are met
  • have a method for differentiation that can be applied when planning lessons.
