Overview

Coaching for Change is a training course that will equip your school staff with the skills and tools they need to be successful coaches and show them how to use these skills to impact upon whole-school improvement.

Through six practical sessions, participants develop a clear understanding of what coaching is, how it can be used powerfully as a force for constructive change in your school and how to use the different tools of coaching most effectively.  People who are trained can coach each other, coach adults in the school and coach learners in the school, giving participants the skills to raise the potential of colleagues and pupils.

Benefits

Coaching for Change will give participants the skills to:

  • Drive whole-school improvement using coaching skills to get the best from teachers and pupils.
  • Develop practice that supports growth through use of high level listening, questioning, reflecting and summarising.
  • Tackle behaviour issues and difficult professional relationships using active listening and open questions.
  • Help colleagues and pupils reach their full potential by replacing limiting beliefs with positive realistic beliefs.
  • Facilitate colleagues and pupils to take responsibility for their own progress.
  • Build rapport that can turn previously frustrating conversations into energising interactions.
