Chris Ford
Dr Chris Ford is an education author and adviser. Chris was formerly a primary teacher and headteacher with much experience of integrating the work of school into the community. Alongside this, he was actively involved with secondary pupils in the work of Youth and Community Services over two decades. He became a Senior Lecturer in Education to trainee teachers before delivering school improvement programmes to both primary and secondary schools on a DfES-funded project to raise boys’ achievement.
Chris has wide experience in leading INSET including conference addresses in London, Brisbane, Ottawa and Boston. He spent three months in teacher-training colleges in Sweden (Gävle-Sandviken) to support developments in teaching for six-year-olds at a time when Sweden was reforming its education system to coincide with EU entry.
He is also a writer of educational theatre programmes, which are performed in heritage settings including the National Railway Museum, two 17th century manor houses, a Victorian textile mill, a gothic mansion, a Yorkshire Dales cotton mill and a city art gallery.
