Efficient Partnership Working to Improve SEND Outcomes

Thursday 24 Nov 2016
Barbican Conference Centre, London

Why is this conference relevant?

The SEND code of practice states that to enable students with SEND to achieve their ambitions ‘local education, health and social care services should work together to ensure they get the right support’*. However, engaging all agencies in the EHCP is proving challenging for schools.

Our Efficient Partnership Working to Improve SEND Outcomes conference will provide you with fresh strategies and best practice to enable you to work effectively with all agencies and professionals to support improved outcomes for children and young people.

*Special educational needs and disability code of practice: 0 to 25 years, Department of Education, January 2016

What can I expect?

  • Working together: Learn how to engage with all agencies, families and your SEND students to ensure the EHCP is child-centric and focused on outcomes.
  • National good practice: Gain vital insight into national good practice to enable you to overcome your local barriers and challenges.
  • Parental perspective: gain first-hand experience from a parent of a child with special educational needs and learn what it is they really need from you.
  • In-school support: learn from 3 case studies on building and developing in-school support on speech and language, counseling, and educational psychology and assessment.
  • Engaging agencies: hear good practice on achieving outcomes within the EHCP by developing a more collaborative approach.
