Sheza Afzal, Partnership Manager, EqualiTeach

Sheza (she/her) is an experienced educator who is passionate about addressing structural inequality and promoting social justice through learning and collaboration. With over 15 years’ teaching, training and facilitating experience across six countries, Sheza has worked on several educational community-funded projects with young people and staff, supporting them to create change in their schools and organisations. In her role at EqualiTeach, she has collaborated on the creation of several learning resources for educators to improve equality and promote inclusiveness in their communities and is increasingly focused on grassroots activism in her local area of Hackney.

Zarina Connolly, Consultant and Author of the Excellence in Pupil Development Award

Zarina is an independent education consultant with highly developed skills and knowledge of inspection, school improvement, staff training and quality assurance practices in schools. She is the author of the Excellence in Pupil Development Award (EPDA). Her vast experience of leading complex inspections, as Her Majesty’s Inspector, together with more than 15 years’ experience in senior leadership in secondary schools in London and the North West, has given her a deep knowledge and understanding of successful strategies to improve schools. Zarina was one of Ofsted’s national trainers and the regional lead for safeguarding. As well as being a contracted lead inspector, Zarina currently also supports a number of schools (both primary and secondary) and multi-academy trusts as a school improvement adviser and trainer.


Charlotte Fryett, Senior Education Associate, Skills Builder Partnership

Charlotte has a background in international education policy and prior to joining Skills Builder was a Senior Leader in the North East of England. At Skills Builde,r Charlotte is responsible for delivering capacity-building programmes in schools, colleges and higher education organisations. She is also network lead for the organisation. Outside of work Charlotte is a school governor, mentor for the Girls Network and is completing her doctorate in Education.


Danielle Hunt, Education Co-ordinator, Lifesavers

Danielle is a trained teacher working for the Just Finance Foundation. She is an education coordinator for Lifesavers, a primary school programme that gives children the knowledge, skills and attitudes to manage their money wisely. As members of the education team, Danielle, together with her colleague Paul, have developed Milo’s Money, a hugely successful dinosaur themed resource for 5–7-year-olds, as well as a series of engagement resources to deliver effective financial education in primary schools.


Joe Kenny, Co-founder, Zeeko

Joe founded Zeeko with a goal to teach internet safety to children and parents and create a world where young people can safely benefit from technology and the internet. After working with thousands of students to promote internet safety, Joe identified a need for 21st century skills training in education so that students would be equipped with the skills necessary to succeed in the modern world. Joe has worked to expand the team at Zeeko, engaging dedicated individuals that are passionate about the company goal of preparing students for success both in their personal and professional lives.


Richard Palmer, Co-founder, Chameleon PDE

Richard is a qualified primary school teacher with over 25 years’ experience as a teacher and consultant for PSHE, Citizenship and pupil wellbeing. He has worked at Local Authority level supporting all settings including early years, primary, secondary, alternative provision and post-16; and held a regional Advisory PSHE position. He has also worked in the university sector and continues to act as a guest lecturer for university and school-based ITE programmes. Through establishing Chameleon PDE with Angela, Richard now offers resources and training to empower teachers to deliver high quality PSHE.


John Rees, Education Consultant, PSHE Solutions

A former school leader, John leads the development of a 2-school, theory driven, evidence-informed research project on Health Education at Exeter University to eventually involve 200+ schools across the UK and overseas. Since 2006, he has provided coaching and training, especially around PSHE education, to reduce inequalities and improve the wellbeing of children and young people - and the staff who work with and for them.


Paul Street, Education Co-ordinator, LifeSavers

Paul Trainor, Managing Director, Positive Synergy

Paul has a consultancy business, Positive Synergy, which works with organisations across education, business and elite sport to develop their performance through developing their people. He is an experienced senior leader, having held senior roles at 4 secondary schools in different contexts across the North West.
