Dr Christian Jessen, Television Presenter and Writer

Dr Christian Jessen is a popular health campaigner who combines his medical career with a successful media career. He works closely with various charities (including Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, Terrence Higgins Trust and Ditch the Label) to help raise awareness and make health accessible to everyone. Dr Christian is well-known for presenting ‘Dr Christian Will See You Now’ along with the multi award-winning ‘Embarrassing Bodies’, 'Supersize V Superskinny' and documentaries ‘Undercover Doctor: Cure Me I’m Gay’ and 'How the Rich Live Longer'. He writes regular medical columns and is the author of ‘Dr Christian’s Guide to Growing Up’, ‘Dr Christian’s Guide to the Tricky Stuff’, ‘Dr Christian’s Guide to You’, ‘Can I Just Ask?’ and ‘Supersize vs Superskinny’.


Jonathan Glazzard, Professor of Teacher Education, Carnegie School of Education 

Professor Jonathan Glazzard is a teacher educator in the Carnegie School of Education. He has established a Centre for LGBTQ Inclusion in Education, which supports schools in developing high quality provision for children and young people who identify as LGBTQ.


Rebecca Jennings, Sex and Relationship Education Consultant, RAISE

Author of 'Sex & Relationship Education in Primary Schools', Rebecca has worked in the field of sex & relationship education for over 14 years. Previously working as the RSE lead alongside the NHS, Rebecca now works as a freelance SRE teacher and trainer through her company RAISE (Raising Awareness in Sex Education).


Leah Jewett, Co-founder, Outspoken Sex Ed

Leah is Outspoken Sex Ed co-founder and Working Group Lead on relationships and sex education at the Women’s Equality Party. A writer and former Guardian/Observer editor, she is a trained and experienced parent RSE facilitator.


John Rees, Education Consultant

John is passionately committed to improving the achievement and life chances of children and young people, through the professional development of individuals and organisations. An independent consultant since 2006, John works with primary, secondary and special schools to improve leadership; teaching and learning; behaviour management; Governance and parental engagement, across the UK and overseas.


Jan Lever, Creator and Director, Jan Lever Education Consultancy and Training Group

Over 36 years’ professional experience in education and psychotherapy are brought together in Jan’s ‘Jigsaw’ programmes for children and families. Her writing, training and consultancy is underpinned by mindfulness as she works passionately in the UK and internationally to nurture mental health and relationships, enabling effective learning.


Gillian Leno, PSHE Lead, Queen Alexandra College/SENSRE

Gill is an experienced RSE teacher, mentor and trainer, working directly with students as well as supporting other professionals with their curriculum and policy.  Gill is a TEDx speaker, a Supported Loving member, and facilitates Scope’s ‘Ask a PSHE Expert’ forum.

 


Mark Jennett, Education Consultant

Mark specialises in equality and diversity, emotional health and PSHE.  He devised the NUT Breaking The Mould resources, which support schools to challenge gender stereotypes, and is currently working with the National Children’s Bureau helping teachers to deliver inclusive RSE.  He has worked as a National Adviser with the National Healthy Schools Programme and is on the board of the Centre for Studies on Inclusive Education.


Catherine Kirk, RSE Trainer, Consultant & Teacher, The RSE Service

Catherine has worked in PSHE/RSE for over 18 years.  She has led RSE development in two local authorities (including currently in Nottingham City) and recently coordinated the first annual RSE Day.  Catherine is also a freelance RSE trainer, consultant and teacher through her company The RSE Service



Hayley Sherwood, Creator of the 1decision PSHE Programme for Primary Schools

Hayley Sherwood is the Founder and Creator of the 1decision programme and has become an expert in the subject of PSHE, driven by her desire to give children the knowledge, skills, and confidence to deal with the ever more complex world in which they are growing up in. The 1decision programme was the first primary programme to be awarded the PSHE Association’s Quality Kitemark.
