Amjad Ali, Senior Leader and Trainer, Try This Teaching

Amjad Ali (@ASTSupportAali) is a teacher, trainer, TEDx speaker and Senior Leader. He currently works four days a week in a start up secondary school and offers CPD/INSET on his other day. Amjad has spent his teaching career working in challenging, diverse schools. He is a qualified, practising SENCO and is also trained as an Advanced Skills Teacher in Teaching and Learning. Amjad has delivered CPD to all sectors in education from trainee teachers to Executive/Head Teachers/CEOs and has worked with over 200 schools and 1000s of students. Amjad is ambitious and committed to making a difference to the education system. He is a current teacher, who shares 'what works' in an engaging and easy to understand format. Amjad also writes a reflective blog entitled NewToThePost where he discusses many elements of his leadership and experience.


Mark Anderson, ICT Evangelist

Mark is a former teacher and senior leader who taught and led on ICT and Computing for more than twenty years in UK schools. He’s held a wide variety of roles ranging from teacher, local authority lead teacher, head of department and governor to senior leader.  He is a multi-award-winning blogger, best-selling author and now runs his own consultancy and training business - ICT Evangelist. His work sees him speak at events around the world. Mark works alongside teachers, schools, colleges, universities, and leadership groups exploring effective use of technology, deployment and digital strategy. He also works with and supports a wide variety of educational technology companies.


Rob Coe, Director of Research and Development at Evidence Based Education and Senior Associate at the Education Endowment Foundation

A former Professor of Education and secondary maths teacher, Rob is a researcher in educational assessment, evaluation and evidence-based practice, working with teachers and schools to connect evidence and practice. Claire Gadsby, Educational Consultant and Author 

Claire is an educational consultant and widely-selling author. Her extensive experience of school improvement was gained from working with hundreds of schools globally to help raise achievement. Claire regularly coaches teachers in the classroom and is a leading expert on formative assessment, time efficient feedback and literacy. Bob Cox, Education Consultant and Author

A teacher for 23 years, Bob has presented ideas about high quality learning and English at regional, national and international conferences in his role as education consultant and author. He is the award-winning author of the ‘Opening Doors’ series of books and his work explores access, inclusion and excellence for all pupils. Bob has now supported about 500 schools, cross-phase and cross-curricular, encouraging approaches using quality texts to quality writing routes. Tom Fay, Executive Director of Primary Education, West Yorkshire 

Tom is currently an Executive Director of Primary Education, leading a cluster of six primary schools in West Yorkshire. Previously, he worked as a senior leader senior in both secondary and post 16 educational settings. He has considerable experience of leadership and leading teaching and learning to be outstanding.

Steve Garnett, CPD Provider and Author

Steve Garnett is an award nominated author for his book ‘The Subject Leader: An introduction to Leadership and Management’ (Best Secondary Resource category BESA Awards). He is a highly experienced CPD provider, having delivered sessions to over 15,000 teachers across the UK and over 30 countries. He promises a ‘hands on’ and interactive session.


Jennie Giovanelli, Headteacher, Kingsthorpe College

Jennie is currently Headteacher of Kingsthorpe College in Northampton - a large secondary school, Ofsted Good Dec 2019. Jennie has a passion for 'organisational health' and is an advocate for ensuring there is alignment between vision, values, culture, and systems and structures. Jennie has written and presented nationally for both SSAT and Leading Edge, and is a founding member of Educating Northants.


Ian Holmes, Former Head and Co-Director of Move & Learn (CIC)

Ian has just completed five years as Headteacher at Thorner Primary School in Leeds. He is chair of the UK Council for ActivatEU (a European research project), developing an evidence based PAL teacher training programme. Ian now consults for Join Us:Move Play (JU:MP), Bradford’s Sport England Local Delivery Pilot. Using the Creating Active Schools (CAS) framework, Ian is supporting schools to improve by developing the way they influence and impact on children’s physical activity behaviours - one step at a time!

Alison Kriel, Education Consultant and Founder, AMAYA Trust

Alison Kriel was an inner city Executive Head Teacher for nearly 20 years and a CEO for 5 years. She has a passion for social justice leadership, wellbeing, equity, inclusion and diversity. She has a reputation for excellence in leadership, leading schools with high social challenges to be in the top 0.1% nationally, top 3 in London, and sustain high attainment over time. Her turnaround school won many prestigious awards including London Gold School Status, SSAT Award winner for Attainment and Pupil Progress, National Pupil Premium Award winner. Both schools her schools were listed in the Sunday Times Top 500. Alison is a Fellow of Chartered Teachers, a HundrEd Ambassador and a RSA Fellow. She is also the founder of Talking Circle, a support network for black and Asian teachers. She was awarded Doctor of Philosophy Honoris Causa for attainment and services to education in 2018.


Bryn Llewellyn, Founder of Tagitiv8 and Co-Director of Move & Learn (CIC)

According to a Year 5 child in London, Bryn is "a genius!". Bryn worked in various UK schools for over 20 years as a teacher and school leader. In 2013, he founded Tagtiv8 Ltd. His pioneering approaches to Physically Active Learning (PAL) help schools take learning beyond the classroom walls – crucial when challenging the increasing problem of sedentary lifestyles. Bryn advises the BBC and the Premier League on their education content.

Lekha Sharma, Vice Principal - Quality of Education, Ark Oval Primary

Lekha Sharma is the Vice Principal (Quality of Education) at a primary school in South London, author of  ‘Curriculum to Classroom’, a TES columnist and a postgraduate student at Oxford University studying learning and teaching.
