EBacc Excellence: Maximise progress and raise attainment at KS4 - Central London - Overview

Tuesday 27 Sep 2011
London

We will be welcoming Peter Kent, Headteacher, Lawrence Sheriff School to demonstrate how you can strategically use pupil performance data and assessment information to make accurate judgements about which students will benefit from the EBacc.  This interactive workshop will provide you with the practical tools to accurately assess which students are not on course to succeed in the EBacc success criteria to enable you to embed tailored intervention strategies that raise the attainment and aspirations of disaffected learners at KS4.

Jackie Beere OBE, AST, SIP and former Headteacher will provide you with innovative ideas for delivering core subjects to widen participation and raise achievement in the EBacc performance tables. In the past, many students have shied away from opting for MFL, Sciences and Humanities at GCSE, often regarding the subjects as too difficult to succeed in.  Jackie will help you improve participation and performance by providing you with practical teaching and learning strategies that draw upon creative cross curricular links, collaborative learning and themed weeks to change the negative perception of these subjects amongst students.
